Here comes metallurgy - metallurgy. A period of almost contemptuous attitudes towards "dirty" and developmentally written-off metallurgy seems to be followed by a period of realisation that Slovenia's future will, however, also be based on the production of steel and other metallic materials.

At the end of this week, Slovenian metallurgists will have their traditional jump over the skin, preceded by a consultation on metallurgy as Slovenia's development and economic potential. This topic is also the challenge of our conversation with two prominent Slovenian metallurgists - Dr Matjaž Godec, the directors Institute of Metal Materials and Technologies (IMT), and Dr Jožef Medved, to the President Department of Materials and Metallurgy, Faculty of Science and Technology (NTF) University of Ljubljana.
